Edenbrook Country House's Terms, Conditions and House Rules

In order to make your stay as pleasant as possible, we request your co-operation in observing the following terms and conditions as well as house rules, in an agreement between the Guests and "Edenbrook Country House" (hereinafter called “Management”) under which rooms, lodge and facilities are permitted to be used by the Guests:

Admission

The right of admission is reserved.

Guests

Guests allowed access to the rooms or the lodge are those registered at check-in time and congruent with the reservation. Any variation in name/number of guests is subject to agreement between the Holder of the reservation and the Management.

Visiting

Please inform us should you be expecting Visitors, right of admission is reserved. Visitors may not have access to the Rooms but may be entertained in the Manor House. Visitors’ use of the pool must be by prior arrangement. Management is not responsible for any damage to goods and or persons visiting Edenbrook Country House.

Pets

Although we love animals, we regret that we cannot accept pets due to the fact that our three german shepherds (Lana, Bacco and Tsara) and cat (Killah) are residents and free roaming and could be incompatible with other pets.

Rates

The rates are inclusive of VAT and any government taxes applicable.

Rooms - B&B

The rates include a Full Breakfast and access to all public areas.
Complimentary Coffee and Tea are available in the rooms, as well as Bath Products.
Not included in the room rates are Mini Bar snacks and drinks, found in the cupboard and fridge in each room. These are available at an extra charge, as per the price list clearly displayed on the inside of the cupboard door or in the Guest Information booklet.
Other services or products (laundry, meals excluding breakfast, excursions, etc.) are available at an extra cost, unless otherwise specified.

Lodge - Self Catering

The rates include water, electricity and gas consumption, housekeeping (personal laundry not included) and access to the dedicated areas (please note that the Pool at Manor House is reserved only for B&B Guests).
Other services or products (personal laundry, meals, excursions, etc.) are available at an extra cost, unless otherwise specified.

Check-in

For guesthouse records, a copy of ID documents, Passports or Temporary Residence Card is necessary at the time of Check-in (Section 40 of the Immigration Amendment Act).
Our standard check-in time is between 14:00 and 19:00.
N.B. as a Country House, the reception is not manned at all times and the main gate is kept closed: to welcome you in the best possible way, please inform us of your estimate time of arrival.
If rooms are available prior to check-in time, an early check-in may be possible. If an early check-in is not possible, Guests may leave luggage, free of charge, in our luggage storage. The luggage storing is at the Guest's sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause.

Settlement of Bills

Balance due accordingly with the reservation must be cleared at Check-in time. Any extras will be billed at Check-out. Bills must be settled by presentation of a Credit Card (MasterCard or VISA), via EFT, or cash (ZAR). Personal cheques are not accepted.
For your best security we have adopted a credit card payment system that can only be made via a 3-D Secure online gateway. You may, therefore, be required by your bank to digit your PIN/Password or OTP (One Time Password which you will receive on your cellphone). For your convenience we suggest that you be able to have this information available at the time of payment.
For any credit card transaction we require the following documentation:
- A copy/imprint of the card.
- A copy of the cardholder ID or Passport (for signature verification)
- A copy of the transaction report signed by the cardholder
Please note that all of above are strictly required by the Credit Card issuer Company and are not at our discretion.

Cooking

Cooking is not permitted inside the Rooms or anywhere on the property, excluding the Self Catering Lodge.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms, the lodge or anywhere on the property.

Departure

Check out time is anytime between 8:00 and 11:00. Should you require a late departure, please inform us the day prior to your departure, and we will do our utmost to accommodate you. We will confirm any such requests on the morning of departure. If a late departure from your room is not possible, we are able to store your luggage and provide you with the use of our communal facilities for the day.
Please note that the luggage storing is at the Guest's sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause. Luggage may not be stored for a period of over 7 days.

Hazardous Goods

Bringing goods and/or storing of any article of a combustible or hazardous nature and/or prohibited goods and/or goods of objectionable nature is prohibited.

The Guest shall be solely liable and responsible to the Management, its other Guests, invitees Visitors, Agents and Servants for all loss financial or otherwise and damage that may be caused by such articles or as a result of the Guests' own negligence and non-observance of any instructions.
Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons, explosives, flammable objects, poisons, drugs, animals are strictly prohibited on Country House premises.

Damage to Property

The Guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the Country House property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible.

Management's Rights

It is agreed that the Guest will conduct him/herself in a respectable manner and will not cause any nuisance or annoyance within the Country House premise.
In case of non compliance to any of the above rules, the Management has the right to request any Guest to vacate his/her room or other areas of the hotel forthwith, without previous notice, and the Guest shall be bound to vacate when requested to do so. In case of the default the Management has the right to remove the Guest luggage and belongings from the room occupied by him/her.

Relation between Management and Guest

Nothing herein above shall continue or be deemed to constitute, or create any tenancy or sub-tenancy, or any other right to interact in the hotel premises or any part of portion thereof, in favour of any Guest or Visitor, and the Management shall always be deemed to be in full and absolute possession of the whole of the hotel premises.

Government rules and regulations and application of laws

Guests are requested to observe, abide by confirm to and be bound by all applicable acts and laws and Government rules and regulations in force.

Photographs and Videos

Using photographs and videos taken in hotel for commercial purposes, is illegal, without the consent of Management. Those who do so will be subject to prosecution.

Disclaimer Statement

Gails Investments (Pty) Ltd trading as Edenbrook Country House, their employees, contractors, subcontractors, agents, workmen or representatives (hereinafter jointly and severally referred as the "Company") do not accept responsibility for any death or injury to any person or loss or damage to property, regardless of whether such death, injury, loss or damage results from negligence of the Company or from any other cause whatsoever, on the premises of the Company. Any person/s accompanying or in control of a minor or a person with limited capacity hereby indemnify/ies (where more than one person, jointly and severally) the Company against any claim by such a minor or person arising from or in connection with his/her presence in the Company's area, including specifically without being limited thereto, any claims in respect of death, injury, loss or damage, as aforementioned, and arising from any cause referred to above. The Management reserves the right to add, alter or amend any of the above terms, conditions and rules.
